Product Description

Product Introduction
The ARM microprocessor, a HART protocol modem chip, and a great deal of real-world knowledge were used in the development of the SM100-W series HART smart converter. It offers great stability and dependability and is designed to meet the specifications of industrial items. To enable real-time data transmission, the intelligent converter has a standard RS485 interface and gateway that can either convert to MODBUS_RTU/MODBUS_TCP protocol to read data or transparently send data with intelligent instruments using HART protocol.
The HART protocol instrument enables bidirectional data transmission without interfering with the 4 to 20 mA analog signal by superimposing a modulated digital signal on a 4 to 20 mA basis using the Bell202 Frequency Shift Keying (FSK) standard. Digital and analog signals can be modulated and demodulated in both directions using the SM100 series intelligent converter.
Product Performance
It has a standard RS485 communication interface and gateway, which allows it to modify the communication baud rate, parity check bit, and settings. It increases the system's overall operating speed because it is not dependent on the HART bus's 1200 communication speed. Adopting an industrial universal module shell makes installation and commissioning easier.
Equipped with specialized configuration software, it can adjust the SM100-W series intelligent converter's parameters and use the intelligent converter to communicate with an intelligent instrument that uses the HART protocol.
The standard MODBUS_RTU and MODBUS_TCP protocols are supported.
Multiple intelligent instruments using the HART protocol can be connected at the same time.
The instrument current output is unaffected by the quarantine of each HART channel.
Capable of customizing the instructions for reading specific HART instruments, it supports a wide range of intelligent instruments with the HART protocol.
One set's data update time is 0.8 seconds. The data will be updated in 6.4 seconds if eight sets are linked.
Method of installation: fixed installation or regular rail installation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: What is the main function of the SM100-W series HART smart converter?
It is designed to enable real-time data transmission by converting HART protocol data to MODBUS_RTU or MODBUS_TCP protocols via a standard RS485 interface, or by transparently sending data with intelligent instruments using the HART protocol.
Q2: Does the HART communication interfere with the analog 4 to 20 mA signal?
No. By superimposing a modulated digital signal on the 4 to 20 mA analog signal using the Bell202 Frequency Shift Keying (FSK) standard, it achieves bidirectional data transmission without any interference to the analog signal.
Q3: Can I connect multiple HART instruments to the converter simultaneously?
Yes, multiple intelligent instruments using the HART protocol can be connected at the same time. The current output of each instrument remains unaffected due to the isolation of each HART channel.
Q4: How fast does the converter update data?
The data update time for one set of instruments is 0.8 seconds. If you link eight sets together, the complete data update time is 6.4 seconds.
Q5: What are the installation methods and power requirements?
The converter supports either fixed installation or standard rail installation. It requires an input voltage of DC 12 to 24 V, with a current of 100 mA, and a power supply ripple of no more than 200 mA.
Q6: Does it support parameter adjustment and communication configuration?
Yes, the converter is equipped with specialized configuration software that allows users to easily adjust the device parameters and configure communication settings with HART protocol intelligent instruments.
